and classical disciplines to deliver six sparkling new originals. “

Ian Mann, The Jazz Mann CD Review UK

“An expressive, emotional debut that echoes the solitary experience while
being completely right with the universe. “- Debbie Burke (US)

Gediminas Karkauskas, a Lithuanian national, is both a jazz and classically trained
pianist based in Dublin for the past 20 years.
He studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague and completed his Masters at
the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory of Music.
Since arriving in Dublin, Gediminas has made many trips back to continental Europe
to appear in concert venues and jazz festivals. He has in particular received several
invitations from the Baltic States including the Broma Jazz Festival and Klaipeda City
Jazz Festival in his native Lithuania. Gediminas has contributed to many notable
concerts in Ireland including a performance at the National Concert Hall with Louis
Stewart in 2015. He has played at various jazz festivals in Ireland, for example the
Kilkenny Jazz Festival and Cork Guinness Jazz Festival.

In October 2020, Gediminas released his debut album, “Lost Suite'' a concept album
of original compositions. It received extremely positive reviews globally, it remained
in the US charts for fifteen weeks and was listed as one of the top jazz albums of the
year by “Jazzfuel”. Journalist and author Debbie Burke (USA) dedicated an entire chapter of her book, “Tasty Jazz Jams Of Our Time Vol 2.”, to the album, whilst Ian Mann (Jazz Mann CD
Review UK) wrote of it “The melodies here are exquisite and the execution flawless,
melding jazz and classical disciplines to deliver six sparkling new originals. “
His concert in April 2022 at St. Ann’s Church in Dublin for the launch of his debut
album “Lost Suite” was a huge success. And in January 2023 Gediminas was invited
to return to top London jazz club The Archduke, where he performed to packed
houses both as a solo player and in a trio with Julian Fenton, drums ( ex Duran
Duran) and Julie Walkington, bass.

His most recent performance in May 2023 was at The National Concert Hall Dublin
where he again performed solo and in duo and trio combinations to a full house and
received a standing ovation.
Gediminas is currently working on material for his second album, due to be released
this year.
