Newtown School in Waterford urgently requires redevelopment. The Department of Education will undertake the rebuilding of the teaching and learning buildings at Newtown. Newtown offers facilities beyond the scope of the capitation grant to schools, including boarding facilities, 17-acre grounds with sports facilities, small woodlands and a swimming pool. The Board of Management has a range of projects that need private funding, including the refurbishment of The Nest building, the installation of solar panels on Yard Block, and landscaping improvements to the front drive.
